Smaller Clothes, Goals and Other Things

So this is the green zone. I heart the green zone. I have to force myself to drink a protein shake in the mornings, because the thought of food doesn't even appeal to me. My whole life, I always had skinny friends that made sour faces at the thought of eating. This must be what they felt like.

I love it. I drank most protein shakes this week and although I know that is not a long term plan, and not advised by my dietitian and I secretly love it. This is what I've needed to get the scale moving again. I'm relishing in this while it lasts!

Onto better news, I bought a pair of size 18 shorts today! YAHOOO! just over 5 months ago I was squeezing into size 24's. Man that feels good.

MS and I have a wedding to go to next weekend so I've been dress shopping. I'm loving every second of it. I was hoping to be in regular sizes by now so my options would be limitless but hell, I'm happy!

A few months ago set a goal for myself to lose 20 more lbs and then I'd get a profile update. Well! I hit that goal!! YAY!! I'm going to get on it and actually give my blog a nice face lift! Can't wait!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

P.S. is anyone reading the 50 shades books? Holy shit.

    1. I mean... I love the smut, but I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the story. I'm about half way through the second one. I do NOT re-read books or like to watch re-runs of movies, but this might be one I read again. I adore that you guys read them together. I might tell mine to read them! hahaha

  2. Great news about the weight loss. Most clinics do not have dieticians with bands themselves. I am always trying to get mine to understand that in the morning, my band DOES NOT like food. It needs warm coffee to loosen it up a little and then I am fine for the rest of the day. While I don't think we should ignore dieticians completely and do our own thing, we are all grown ups and capable of making our own decisions.

As for the size 18's!!!! That is just fantastic. Well done you. x

    1. I agree. You know what else dietitians will never understand, why we are overweight - they don't even get it!!

  3. Yeah for you! 18's are awesome! And as for the books, yep, read them. Loved them. They aren't the most well written, but face it, nobody's reading them expecting Shakespeare! After the first one, I didn't feel like they were nearly as "out there" as others thought, but I was raised on romance novels with a bit of "bodice ripping" so I've read my fair share.

Congrats again, and I can't wait to see the new blog design!

  6. Woohoo! Good to see your ticker moving! :) As for the books... I haven't read them yet but with all the hoopla I just might. How do they compare to Anne Rice Exit to Eden, or the Sleeping Beauty trilogy?

    1. I haven't read the Anne Rice books. I really really love 50 shades, I just started the 3rd book. I just love the story. I mean every few pages there are pretty explicit sex stories, but I don't think it's really that bad.

  7. Howdy. I am getting my surgery done two weeks from today. I love your blog with all the fun tabs. I have a question since I'm new to all of this. I was told to get a can of Beneprotein but I saw you have tried flavors ... is that allowed or do I have to get the none flavored one first for after surgery? I'd prefer a cheaper brand and a flavor. Any tips would be great. My email is kirtepa@gmail.com

    Thanks, Amy

    1. Hi Amy! Well, I'm not sure what beneprotein is. We were instructed to try any protein we wanted as long as we got the reccomended amount in (50-80 grams). Now, that being said, a lot of bloggers that I follow were instructed to be on a clear liquid diet after surgery and we weren't. So just double check with your doctor!
